161 E Chicago Ave
The Olympia Centre skyscraper in Chicago's River North neighborhood is one of the most distinctive buildings on the Chicago skyline because of its distinctive shape. Like many mixed-use buildings, the lower portion of the building is reserved for commercial use, while the upper levels are condos inhabited by permanent residents.
In this particular building though, the developers decided that the lower floors should be slightly wider than the upper half of the building, so the tower tapers as it rises from the ground. |
